So you’ve applied for ESTA…What now?

The electronic system for travel authorization (ESTA) application process is carried out

entirely online, and this procedure does not take more than 10-15 minutes. For the online

filling of the form, you only need the passport and the payment method. Once you have

submitted your ESTA application, you will receive the confirmation status within 24 hours,

and sometimes much quicker within an hour. The confirmation is sent to your e-mail

address on which you have submitted your application. 

Once your ESTA visa application is approved you can go and visit the United States of

America. You should always try to follow all the rules and regulations and keep yourself on

track. If you are traveling under the visa waiver program (VWP) you have to keep in mind

that the ESTA is only valid for 90 days. And you have to return back to your country within

these 90 days. If you stay for more than this time period legal actions can be taken against

you under which you will be deported back to your country. 

ESTA application can get denied under various circumstances:

• Your ESTA application will definitely get denied if in your earlier visit to the US you have stayed for more than 90 days and has gone against the law of the US authorities. 

• If you have traveled to the United States of America under the visa waiver program and started working in the US as it is against their law of US embassay you won’t be allowed to travel back to the US. You can visit the United States for business and pleasure purposes and not for work purposes. The only class you can take in the US is the cooking classes.

• If the applicant has been previously denied entry to the US upon arrival.

• You must never fill your application form incorrectly as this can be the reason for your ESTA application denial. 

• If the applicant filled out the ESTA form using the passport details that had previously been reported as lost or stolen. 

What if your ESTA gets denied, but you are in need to travel to the US urgently:

The best thing you can do is always apply for the ESTA application in advance as if you don't get approval or if your application gets rejected you still will be having time to apply through the traditional visa application process. But there is no guarantee in whether you will get a next day visa appointment as for that you always need to keep a check on it while checking it on a daily basis. 

It is very important to keep the documents ready and your confidence level high as after obtaining your ESTA there is a final round and you definitely need to prepare for that as a little mistake made at that time can lead to serious issues. Lack of confidence and inability to give proper answers to the questions with clarity can lead to denial of your entry. It is very important for you to answer all the questions without any hesitation and try to keep all the documents with you to show as evidence to all your answers. Always be true and honest in giving answers as it will help you a lot in clearing the last round.
