ESTA: The US visa application

While ESTA is one of the easiest ways to get a visa to the United States of America, the entire process is quite complicated. From arranging all the required documents to qualifying the US embassy interview, it is extremely important to tick off every point to ensure you don’t face any issues during the visa approval process.

Gathering all the documents after selecting the visa type is very important. Being the applicant, make sure to get all the documents all together that are needed at the time of the US visa application.

Since one missing document can affect the entire visa approval process, it is important to ensure that each required documentation is attached in the visa file.

There are several types of documents that are required by the US embassy from each and every applier irrespective of what visa type are they applying for.

It is very important for you to be careful about having all the documents with you when you hand in your US visa application.

To make it easier for you, we have written down some of the essential documents that are required for the US visa application. So, if you have been planning to get your US visa approved, continue reading, and prepare your visa file accordingly.

The important requirements of the US visa application include:

  • A valid passport:

This one is quite obvious. You can’t enter a different country without a valid passport. However, it is also important that your passport needs to be valid for at least six months beyond your planned stay in the United States of America. This is one of the travel policies given by the US government that must be followed

However, there are some countries that are exempt from this requirement and only needing a passport is valid during their period to stay in the United States. It is very important for your passport to have at least one blank page to be able to attach a visa.

In case you don’t already have a passport, make sure to apply for one as soon as possible. The reason being it can take a couple of days for a passport to come.

  • A proper photograph:

The photograph is one of the main requirements for every visa you apply for. You can’t your application approved if your file doesn’t have your latest photograph.

It is mandatory for you to upload a photo while you are applying online through the DS-160 form.

If due to particular problems, your photograph does not get uploaded, however, you can still submit it on the appointment day. This is one of the convenience you have while applying for a US visa application through ESTA.

We would like to recommend you that even if you have uploaded your photo, you should bring one at the time of the interview in case they ask you for the photograph at that particular time.

  • All the Details of your social media accounts:

While it may sound a bit surprising, adding details to all of your social media accounts is extremely imperative if you are applying for an ESTA application form.

The name of your account on each social media profile, your e-mail account, phone number and social media history of five previous years will be required by the US embassy.

The US embassy then checks if you have shared or uploaded any violent content on your social media accounts or not. Since the US government is very concerned about the kind of people who enter their country, they make sure to leave no stone unturned while verifying an immigrants visa application.

So, make sure to give the right information about your social media profiles so that you don’t face any issues in the future.

What Happens When Your Visa Application Gets Approved?
After completing all the formalities and once the US visa application is approved, you must take proper steps while visiting the United States of America. While traveling to the United States on a Visa, it is important to follow all the rules, regulations, and guidelines released by the US government.

When you have a tourist visa, keep in mind that you cannot stay in the United States for more than the 90 days time period under the ESTA visa waiver program.

In case any tourist is found staying for more than 90 days in the country, the police have every reason to take legal actions against him. This can further lead to a lot of trouble and that’s why it is never a good strategy to live in the country once your visa expires.

This is everything you need to know about the ESTA visa application. So, prepare your documents properly and get your USA visa application approved without any facing any complications.
